Hello, my name is Nicholas C. Cockman and I am a storyboard artist from Lakeland, Fl. I first started to practice art at my local community college and then I went to the Savannah College of Art and Design to study Storyboard Animation. I attended SCAD from 2019-2024 gaining a Storyboard animation undergrad degree and a 3D Modeling and 3D Texturing graduate degree
While at SCAD I was on the Deans List on two separate semesters. I was a part of three different teams working on animated films, where I was responsible for a majority of the storyboards and then helped with either the background painting and layouts or making 3D models and then texturing the models.
Storyboards are my main profession, but I also enjoy character design, vector image illustrations, digital art, and 3D modeling and sculpting.
For my storyboards I mainly use Toon Boom Storyboard Pro for its ability to draw, edit, and export storyboards and animatics. I also use Photoshop for my beat boards, storyboards, and character designs.
For my 3D work I use both Autodesk Maya and Blender for the modeling and Zbrush for character sculpting. I then bring the model and characters into Substance Painter for texturing and then export and render in either Maya or Blender.
